FAQs About 20x20x1 Air Filters
What does 20x20x1 mean in air filters?
It refers to the filter’s nominal, commercial dimensions in inches — length x width x depth. It's the dimensions you find on most labels and stores. For a 20x20x1 size, the actual filter size is 19.5 x 19.5 x 0.75”. If your air filter doesn't have a label, measure it to find the right size before buying.
Can I use a higher MERV rating than my current filter?
Yes, but check your HVAC manual. Higher MERV filters trap more particles but may restrict airflow in some older systems.
How do I know when to change my 20x20x1 filter?
Typically, you should check your air filter every 2 to 3 months to determine if it needs to be changed. That's because the right time to change any air filter is when it is not capturing pollutants as it should. It depends on household inhabitants' sensitivity, pollution, etc. So, in conclusion, if you notice more dust around your home, increased allergies, or higher energy bills, it’s time to check and replace the filter.
Is this filter washable or reusable?
No — the 20x20x1 air filter is disposable. Replacing it on schedule ensures top performance and cleaner indoor air.

My filters fit perfect . Glad I found your company ! Thanks for having them ❤️
I’m really not sure what the problem is? This is the second order in a row that’s been completely damaged. I think this order there may be one usable filter out of six. I really am not interested in a refund. I would just like to get a good undamaged order of filters. This is the second time in a row. I understand it’s not your fault but maybe you could have a discussion with the shipping agent, thanks

I bought total 6 filters, 20x25x1. and install it for ceiling filter for my house's air-conditioning. At first, it bend after 3 days (shown in picture), I thought I install it wrong and call a air-condition technician to install for me. After few days later, the same thing happens again. so far, all 5 of 6 is gone bad in matter of 2 weeks. Last year, the same size filters from Home Depot never experience such situation. The problem with this filter is either the side support paper is too weak or the wire on the back can not sustain the paper form to keep it straight. It need to be improved for sure.
These filters were a fraction of the cost of other filters. They seem to be high quality and they shipped them to me exceptionally fast! I am very impressed!
GREAT price on filters. Buy more and save! If I bought from my HVAC tech, I'd literally would pay for just one, that I paid for 6 from this awesome company!
I got like 6 filters so I don't have to worry for 3 months! My little heater thing takes 2 air filters, so the bulk option was a life saver. Thanks guys!
I am an HVAC contractor and frequently run into odd floor filter sizes. This particular one was a 12x22x1 slot. Absolutely none of my local supply houses had this size, nor were able to get the filters for a reasonable price. With CFD, Both price and shipping were relatively cheap. I am very pleased with Custom Filters and have them on my go-to list now.
I updated a 16 by 25 by 1 filter frame to a 16 by 30 by 4 frame I designed myself by cutting off lip of 1 inch frame and building an aluminum frame 4 inches behind it and sealing it. It's an odd ball size but custom filter had this size and they are excellent filters. Will buy from them again. Heavy duty, air flow is perfect, couldn't ask for more.
